Seance

Phantom Camera control software.

SeanceOverview

Seance puts you in direct communication with your Phantom! With this software, you can control your Vision Research Phantom Camera directly from your Macintosh. Séance supports several models of Phantom Devices: the Phantom Flex, Phantom HD/65, and the Phantom v640/641/642. This software is also ideal for the Cinestation, as well. Séance includes a GPU-accelerated live preview that closely matches what is displayed on the HD-SDI output of the camera, and now provides all of the image adjustment controls available on the hardware. Color adjustments can be made on a shot-by-shot basis. You can tweak the settings to give your imagery the look that you want before downloading the footage to your Cine file. Using the same color science that the Phantom Cameras use, the Cine Preview provides a match to what the DP expects to see. This also matches what will be displayed by the Phantom Cine Toolkit, providing consistent color through the post process.

NEW

Fixes Include:

  • Seance has a built in renderer for Apple ProRes MOV files. This renderer is enabled in Preferences. To see its status, select "CMD-T" on your keyboard or "Tools-Open Transcode Window" menu item.
  • Transcoding is done in the background, which will require 10Gig users to adjust throttle.
  • You can set a specific folder for ProRes renders.
  • Scaled Apple ProRes can be rendered at 1920x1080 or 1280x720.
  • Changing the FPS works properly with the Cinestation IV.
  • HD-SDI Playback from Phantom Device is now enabled on supported hardware.
  • The assorted Menus and Device settings for HD-SDI video out are now disabled, when a Cinestation IV is in use.
  • Downloads have had the networking fixed, where sometimes Séance would stall on Timestamps.
  • In and Out Points work properly.
  • Exposure Index popup menu has been removed from "Image" Inspector panel.
  • ToneMap panel has been re-build with a new UI. You can now select your Exposure Index as a ToneMap, rather than as a Gamma/Toe value.
  • Timestamp and Range Data is now populated in the header for Scientific uses.
  • Added support for more V-Series cameras with Cinemag support.
